The "Jack Kuru" Kai Competition
In Memory of the late Jack Kuru
Kuru Contracting took a rear moment an shut down all operations and held a hunting competition over the weekend starting 10th of September at 4PM with the ending time of 12th September at 2PM. This was a closed to public competition and was just held within the company.
Rules (what rules?) were that it must be hunted within the East Coast region and 1 of every species is required for entry. 1 deer, 1 pig, 1 terikihi fish, 1 paua and 1 kina. Due to the weather the time was changed to start earlier from 11th September at midnight to 10th September at 4PM. The ocean had a huge swell brewing for the 11th which would of meant that the teams may not of been able to get out an get the seafood requirements as after all, if you didn’t have all of the species then you would not qualify to enter.
There were eight teams involved in this competition and they consisted of the crews that every one worked in. Each team had between 8 -10 people.
1st place was taken out by the workshop crew, 2nd place was won by the office crew, 3rd place went to Log 2. Overall average winner was taken out by Log 3.
Overall it was an excellent turn out and our crews were able to all enjoy a long weekend.
